Decisions out of Fear or Intuition

Making decisions is one of the most innate skills of the human breed. We make decisions almost every minute. Millions of neurons respond in microseconds enabling us to decide on various topics. Business, requires its own decision making. Decisions to build a product, decisions to manage a team, decisions to gain  better market exposure, decisions at strategic, tactical or operational level. Nowadays DSS's are replacing human intuitive approach. However, I believe the human instinct is far more superior than a set of the best DSS's combined.
I came across this wonderful video on OnStartUps.com which explains by far the difference between fear and intuition while making decisions. Here the point explained is that we got to feel what we do is right or wrong.
But what I want to know is that when there is an idea in which you feel expanded and are damn sure about it, however on the contrary your partner is extremely contracted, the reasons are measurable and are equal on both sides. What should be done? How can we sort the differences? The issue oscillates like a pendulum and there is no end to the conversation. Eventually the activity is dropped or done with someone disappointed!
What should be done in such cases? Open question...
