Be it a bicycle, a moped, a bike, my car, my friends' car, my uncles' car or any other automobile; I have a negative connection with all of them. I have met with an accident on all of them, even if not an accident, I have mutilated it. Yeah, well its not a very uncommon phenomena, people make mistakes while learning, however, with me its not that I'm necessarily the reason behind a crash.
I will narrate the most recent incident that happened on Friday. I was returning home from office at 10.30 PM via the Palm Beach Roa; a very regular speed (60 KMPH) at which I was driving and it happened that a Maruti Alto (Reg MP 04 HA 3468 of Chetan Sanat Jain [chetansjain@gmail.com] and his wife who called herself Shweta Saklecha a.k.a Ruchi) bumped into my car at a point where he had no reason to move. Yes, he was in utter rush. He had no clue as to what he did. He crushed the headlight, front bumper and the portion right adjacent towards the door. Luckily, I was not the victim of his foolishness.
People lie and they lie big time. Immediately, after the accident occurred, the guy was shocked. He feared that he would be kicked in his ass badly and I was supposed to do that. But due to the fact that the drivers side door was jammed and didnt open up I was stuck for a while and he got a breather to think of a story so that he could blame me. I pushed myself out of the car and rushed towards him. He denied all charges and started blaming me that I was over-speeding. People gathered on the road clearly pointed the guy and his mistakes. He was yet denying them. Lie. Lie. And Lie is all he could stutter. We argued for more than an hour and yet he denied his act.
After hundreds of minutes wasted, his wife accepted the folly and agreed to pay the damages. Very assuring they were. The total expense was estimated around Rs. 8000 - 10,000/-. However, in India, you can always just run away by giving just assurances. Lesson learnt big time. Once again.
