With tears in my eyes, I'm recalling few moments of my life which I spent with Husain.
It was early winters in 2008, when I met Husain for the first time in Noida. He joined Tekmindz into the Corporate HR team as an HR/Ops Associate. I was excited to acknowledge that someone from Mumbai and my culture is joining me.
I could easily connect with him as a result of sharing the Mumbaikar vibe. He was my first buddy in at Samin Tekmindz Pvt. Ltd. Full of life and pretty enthusiastic, I was delighted to meet someone with whom I could share my experiences out there. Both of us shared the same space at the same level of independence. We started off together @ Tekmindz. Apparently our professional lives too started together.
For a week he stayed at the company guest house and then he joined me at my room (I remember pledging for him to my landlords as they were not so keen on renting the room, however, we triumphed and he was with me.) Since then it has been all memories for me. Good days, bad days, etc etc we were together @ Tekmindz.
After a month of his joining, Mufaddal (another colleague) joined in and we all moved to a luxurious 3BHK Apt in Ghaziabad. We stayed together for 8 months, we experienced the chilling winters, the extreme summers and some really scanty rains together in Noida, when finally he was transferred as the Head Of Operations to Tekmindz's first branch in Pune @ Chinchwad, MIDC.
Pune, was his maternal hometown, so he had a host of his relatives there. A few months later, I (along with Mufaddal) joined the Pune branch in order that we could be closer to our parents as well. At Pune, he ran the show, no matter what. From office operations to HR to PR to everything it was one POC => Husain Nawab. Barely 1.5 yrs of experience and he had won trust of the entire Management to shoulder such a humongous responsibility. We moved from one office location to the other (@Kasarwadi) and he took care of each and everything. I remember him contributing in organizing various events in order to ensure that the morale of the employees remain at its peak. He was a thorough professional. He knew how to coalesce with people depending on their culture, the way they speak, their style etc. For example he could easily imitate the way hindi or gujarati is spoken in Maharashtra, M.P, Gujarat, Delhi etc.
He lived a ostentatious lifestyle. He was rich at heart and will always be loved in the hearts of people whose lives he has touched.
If I comprehensively enlist the favors that he has bestowed upon me (which I remember very well), then it would be a pretty exhaustive list. However, I know for a fact that he has touched my life in various ways. To enumerate a few, he had a 'Never say No' attitude, always helped me in achieving whatever I asked for if it was in his purview. Always, had a good taste for food, I remember him taking me out for lunch/dinner a thousand times and never ask for the bill. An optimist and a sheer devotee of the Almighty, many times forced me to attend mosque, offer my prayers etc. He religiously attended all ceremonies at mosque and even used to lead various communal events from the front. I would also like to regret for once I had a dispute with him for some petty issue which caused a major rift amongst us. But as time heals all wound, we fixed the messed up part later on.
We separated in early 2011 when I moved on from Tekmindz. Spoke/Texted occassionally over the period of time and ALAS! I was shocked when I heard the horrifying news today at 5.00PM while working, preparing a deliverable for production. All my senses failed for a moment. It couldn't be possible in my wildest dreams that such an unfortunate event would occur. Helpless. :(
I pass my sincerest condolences to his family.
Husain, you would be always missed.
Rest in Peace. Love you, bro!!
