Another boring day at work today. Entire day passed out in giving presentation to a new colleague about the project in hand and finding out root cause for a defect. Nothing important to test at all. However, while preparing for the presentation I managed to find a couple of issues and reported them quickly. The Business Analyst team has geared up in Sri Lanka and are about to throw some hard core list of issues on our faces by weekend. Same old story.
Its been a while since anything significant has happened. I remember times when less was more. Lesser the people, better the responsibilities, continuous learning experience, full-on exposure, frequent achievements, extra hours at work, immense bonding with colleagues and of-course tremendous self satisfaction.
However, times have changed now, the office is crowded with people. You cannot distinguish yourself out there. People who usually roamed around are found stuck to their places throughout the day. People who cared for others now care for themselves. People who attacked are now defensive. People who lived are now surviving.
Also if we recall our past, we have always been happy with things of lesser importance. Like the pair of jeans, though tottered and torn, we wore it till our moms must have thrown it without our notice. Our school friends, our old house, old neighbors, the meal pattern we followed, the clothes we had, et cetera.
Seasons changed, from less to more. Increase in number of people has really made it difficult. As Charles Darwin in his theory describes, 'Survival of the fittest', yes, all of us are fighting hard. Its funny to acknowledge this, but its true.
